Roadshow kicks off in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville

The Incentive Fund has hit the road! First stop – Autonomous Region of Bougainville.

Information sessions on the Incentive Fund’s grant application process were held in Buka and Arawa. More than 60 stakeholders from government agencies and private, non-government and faith-based organisations attended the sessions.

The roadshows are being held to attract a diverse range of organisations that are eligible to apply for an Incentive Fund grant and to raise their awareness and understanding of the application process and requirements for submitting a successful expression of interest.

Incentive Fund grants are available to organisations with strong ideas for infrastructure projects that will contribute to positive social and economic development outcomes for communities. As part of a successful grant application, organisations must outline how they will address the following:

  • Gender equality and women’s empowerment.
  • Social inclusion for people living with disabilities and other socially marginalised groups.
  • Measures to build climate change resilience.
  • Opportunities to reduce risks from disasters.

The next Incentive Fund roadshow now move on to East and West Sepik provinces in October this year.

Incentive Fund is targeting provinces where grants have not been recently awarded. The roadshows are an opportunity for organisations to better understand the grant criteria and to discuss the application process with members of the Incentive Fund team.
